“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1).

There are many things happening in our world today that call for our insistence in prayer. If we must change things in the direction of God’s purpose and plan, then we must keep interceding for our nations and the environments in which we deal. We must also pray for the leaders of nations.

In 1 Timothy 2:1-3, we are admonished to pray for kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a peaceable and quiet life in all godliness and honesty. This is not something we do once and go to sleep.

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:1).

One of the most striking thoughts in the Bible, which many of God’s people seem not to be conscious of is the fact that as Christians, we are more than “saved people” or “good people.” We are actually “saints of God.” The word “saint” as used in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible means the same thing.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking (Matthew 6:7).

Some people believe what they need when they’re in a dire situation is a powerful prayer, but what exactly is a powerful prayer? To some, it has to do with the multiplicity of words or how loud they’re able to shout when they pray.

Be sensible and don’t tell everything you know… (Proverbs 12:23 CEV)

When you walk with the Lord, He gives you visions for your future; visions about your life, the things He wants to accomplish with you and through you. He causes you to see into the future so you can head for that future.

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).

The Bible is more than a story-book or a compilation of historical events. It is the revelation of God and His Kingdom. Every time you study your Bible and read about the lives of those who walked with God, you’ll become aware of another dimension of His awesome personality.

But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20 AMP).

You may have wondered how come there’re some Christians who are often intimidated or overwhelmed by the circumstances of life. They easily become afraid when challenged by unpleasant situations, thereby making themselves vulnerable to the fierce attacks of the enemy.

Confrontation between Benson Idahosa and the World Witches
SUFFER NOT A WITCH TO LIVE
Exodus 22:18

Benin as has been said earlier was formerly known as the ‘City of Blood’. It would have been apt for it to also be known as the ‘Land of Witches and Wizards’. Idahosa grew up in the midst of witchcraft and idolatry.

His late father was utterly disappointed that Benson could not become the deity priest that he had desired while his Grandmum remained a fervent idolater till death.

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18).

The devil doesn’t have any regard whatsoever for your financial status. He afflicts both the rich and poor with all kinds of sickness. He doesn’t look at your academic qualification nor does he consider your family background.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all (1 Timothy 4:15).

The word, “appear” in our opening verse is the Greek “phaneros,” which means to spread abroad, or to cause something or someone to shine. Here, the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul lets us know what meditating on God’s Word does for you: it causes your prosperity and success to spread abroad or burst forth. Hallelujah!

“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:14)

A Christian is a peculiar person who is always eager to do good works. He doesn’t try or struggle to do good because doing good is his nature. An unbeliever or non-Christian has a different nature as the Bible says (John 8:44).
